The Nepalese are perhaps the friendliest people of all in the Indian subcontinent. The landlocked state, lies for most part, on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, bound by India on three sides and Tibet in the north. The ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan & Bhaktapur are centres of Nepalese culture. Apart from that it also affords some delightful trekking country, wildlife trails and scintillating white water rafting, which can be rated as the best.

Your tour begins in Kathmandu, with visits to Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Bodhnath Stupa. Enjoy your day riding the back of cycle rickshaws. After a couple of days sightseeing in Kathmandu, Bungamati & Kokhana villages, which date back to 16th century, proceed to Patan, also known as Lalitpur or the “city of beauty”. Patan is well known for its intricately carved temples, narrow lanes and quaint shops. See the intricately stone-carved Krishna temple.

Your next destination is Chitwan, some 105 miles / 5 hours by a scenic mountain road. This afternoon, commence your adventure with elephant back safari through the jungles to see the Nepali wildlife such as; the great Asian one-horned Rhinoceros, sloth Bear, wild Boar, several species of Deer, rhesus Monkey, the black-faced Langur, the Gaur (wild cattle) and if we are lucky, the spotted Himalayan Leopard or the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Your next port of call is Pokhara, famous for views of snow clad mountain peaks, lush green vegetation and its spring fed lakes.

There are a number of delightful options one can choose from, while planning for Nepal. For the fit and adventurous, nothing can be more entertaining than trekking in congenial hill country. The treks chosen are mild with splendid views of Annapurna Mountains.

The White Water rafting on the River Seti could be one of the best anywhere, without the furious currents experienced in such mountainous environments. An evening spent in the River Camp will leave an indelible impression.
